Student of the Week and Soaring Eagles Awards recognize academic and character building accomplishments. Students are nominated by faculty and recognized in Chapel. Special Events include the Christmas Program, Easter Program, Evening of the Arts, and K5 Graduation, as well as educational field trips |

ACSI Speech Meet, Spelling Bee, Art Festival and Science Fair are opportunities for our students to represent WCA in competition with other Christian schools. The WCA Annual Science Fair is an event in which all grade levels participate, teaching the scientific process. National Children's Book Week, celebrated in November, is a weeklong celebration of reading, which includes dress up days, reading competitions and Reading Buddies. After School Programs such as Piano, Voice and Violin lessons, Interpretive Dance, and Middle School Chorus allow students opportunities to experience additional avenues of learning in specific areas of interest. Competitive Middle School Athletic Teams afford upper school students the opportunity to experience the benefits of teamwork and include girls' volleyball, flag football, soccer, boys' and girls' basketball, cheerleading and tennis. Reading Counts is a computer-based reading program that encourages and tests reading comprehension. The Student Council participates in the supervision of student life. It consists of elected representatives from each class in the school, as well as executive officers elected from the Middle School. National Junior Honor Society recognizes students in the Middle School who exhibit notable qualities in each of the following areas: scholarship, character, leadership and service. The Annual Book Fair encourages and strengthens a love for reading by providing an opportunity to peruse and purchase new books. The Safety Patrol offers fourth grade students the opportunity to gain leadership experience as they assist with pedestrian and vehicular traffic before and after school. |
