Visual Arts

Published July 28, 2010

Visual Arts in the pre-primary and elementary school years is a special time for children to appreciate the glorious beauty of God’s creation as well as to explore their natural creative ability. Guided by talented instructors, students are introduced to exciting and challenging projects. Elements and principles of art, as well as art appreciation, are part of the curriculum. Each project stimulates motor skills, use of color, shape and composition.

Many of the creative ideas and experiences gained in elementary school set the foundation for Photography and Portfolio I, II & III, electives offered in Middle School. Formal concerns are introduced from abstract art to the study of anatomy and perspective. Students are expected to develop ideas and composition thoroughly and to create art more independently. Each student develops a digital portfolio to take with them.
